Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow periods of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
